Account Information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive:
- A unique user identifier (provided by Apple)
- Your email address (only if you choose to share it)
App Data
To provide our services, we store locally on your device:
- Conversations with Marcus Aurelius (AI mentor)
- Journal entries you create
- Your life calendar settings and experiences
- Daily wisdom quotes and favorites
- Notification preferences
Usage Information
We collect minimal usage data to manage service limits:
- Daily message counts (for free tier limits)
- Subscription status
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide personalized AI mentorship conversations
- Store your journal entries and reflections securely on your device
- Manage subscription access and daily message limits
- Send daily wisdom notifications (if enabled)
- Improve our AI responses and app experience
Note: Your conversations with Marcus are sent to our AI service to generate responses. We do not use your conversations to train AI models, and conversations are not stored on our servers beyond what's needed for the immediate response.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is protected through:
- Local Storage: Journal entries, conversations, and personal data are stored locally on your device using SwiftData
- Secure Authentication: Sign in with Apple provides secure, private authentication
- Encrypted Transmission: All data transmitted to our servers uses TLS encryption
- Keychain Storage: Sensitive tokens are stored in iOS Keychain
- Minimal Server Data: We only store usage counts on our servers, not your conversations or personal reflections
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- AI Service Provider (Anthropic): To generate Marcus's responses (conversation content only)
- Apple: For authentication and subscription management
- RevenueCat: For subscription management (anonymous identifiers only)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect rights
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all your data within the app
- Delete: Delete your account and all associated data from Settings
- Export: Your data remains on your device under your control
- Opt-out: Disable notifications at any time
Account deletion removes all server-side data immediately. Local data can be cleared by deleting the app.
6. Third-Party Services
The app integrates with:
- Sign in with Apple: For secure authentication
- RevenueCat: For subscription management
- Anthropic (Claude): For AI-powered conversations
- Cloudflare Workers: For API hosting
Each service has its own privacy policy governing your data.
7. Children's Privacy
This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
